We offer the following five levels of instruction:
BEGINNER(1) - Learning the basics...the main objective is to become comfortable in the water, learning how to float (front & back), submerge the head and face, swim using arms and legs, etc. A child with no previous experience should be in this level.
BEGINNER(2) - This experienced beginner should be more comfortable in the water and has begun to grasp the basics. This level will help young swimmers progress, with a focus on floating (front & back), submerging, coordinating arms and legs, etc. Goals in Beg. 2 include becoming more independent and working toward swimming unassisted.
ADVANCED BEGINNER - This is a swimmer that can float, bob, and tread on their own. In this level beginner skills are reinforced, and more complex skills and strokes are introduced. The front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke are practiced and refined.
INTERMEDIATE - This level includes strong swimmers able to swim longer distances unassisted (50 ft. or more). Advanced beginner skills are reinforced; the front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, are refined. New skills, including diving, are introduced.
ADVANCED - These are swimmers that can swim for longer distances and are proficient in multiple strokes. With an emphasis in deep water, all skills are practiced and refined. New strokes like the butterfly are introduced.
